Today we are going to do a few things: 1) write sentences with the next two vocabulary words (      ). 

2) go over your short story outlines. 3) As a group we will do questions 1-9 on page 45, and 4)

Write a sequel to Harrison Bergeron.  The choice of the sequel is up to you, but you can discuss the parents' reaction when they are informed of Harrison's death, or take the point of view of one of the ballerinas or either write a sequel from the point of view of the Diana Moon Glampers, the Handicapper General.  Remember this world is a negative-utopia.

  Monday, we will begin STORYBOARDS (BRAHAHAHA). 

 HOMEWORK: Study Literary Terms. If you have time in class you might want to make a quizlet or something.

 Today you will take your first vocabulary quiz. When you are finished, please work on the journal entry from yesterday:  Outline the day routine of the family that lived in the house.   You will do this by going back through the story and marking what happens with the house and when it happens.  Create a hour-time line.  Example: 8 am: "Time to Run".  The house plods the children out the door to go to school.   The garage door opens indicating that the father will be leaving for work.  The house begins to clean... Please do not skip anything or your blog grade may suffer.  You will need 3-4 detailed sentences per time.

   You should be working on your projects: Unit Learning goal: At the end of this unit, students will be able to show an understanding of the Odyssey as an Epic Poem by creating a video or power point that lists the epic elements of the Odyssey, discusses how Odysseus fits the role of the Epic Hero, and summaries the book into six parts.    FINAL PROJECTS: PART 1: Breaking the Odyssey up into six parts, each part with a title, a description of the action.  Giving an overarching theme. PART  2: A) Discuss with examples of how Odysseus fits the role of an EPIC HERO (lists how if reinforces values the Greeks held dear); His Tragic Flaw; How he is morally superior to those around him; and how has the Gods on his side.  B) Discuss how the Odyssey starts in the middle of things and how it reinforces the idea of journey: maybe talk about the Cyclops, Circe, the Underworld and Odysseus homecoming. 4 3 2 1 S...
