Wednesday

 Today we will look at a Syntax Primer (we did these in the Fall) and work on essays. If your essay is almost finished you can start putting it on note cards to practice delivery. You will present these after Spring Break.

Tuesday

 We are going to continue what we started yesterday. Look at the debate from 2022 Nationals, discuss who might be winning and why, and work on essays.

 Today we are going to discuss flowing and look at a national debate constructive speeches and the first crossfire (clash) and discuss what is going on in the debate and potential who is winning an why. Then you should have some time to work essays. I think most of you are behind.

 Okay, we still have to discuss debates in this class so I do need you to finish your 1st drafts by Friday. Final drafts will be due on Monday after Spring Break - but I will suggest that you finish them by Friday before Spring Break. Today before you begin writing I do want to review the things you should know for this Unit and discuss flow.  OBJECTIVES:   By the end of this unit students will be able to 1)     Define the following terms: Logos, Ethos, Pathos, Thesis Statement, Order of Development, Conclusion, Transition, Audience, Hook, Purpose, Evidence 2)     List the six traits of writing and the six steps in the writing process. 3)     Properly outline the constructive for a debate and rebut opponents points/arguments 4)     Participate in Spar and Forum debate 5)     Watch a national debate and evaluate and explain who won by keeping a flow chart of arguments and rebuttals 6) ...
